Our mission

Lasso is the Brussels' platform for cultural participation. We want art and culture to be by everyone and for everyone. That’s why we inspire and support organisations and professionals. We foster collaboration across sectors and communities from the perspective of the Brussels metropolitan context.

Our vision

Lasso strives for an inclusive cultural offer that is experienced or shaped together. We want to eliminate thresholds and preconceptions, with a focus on those who face challenges in accessing or participating in cultural life.

We support organisations and professionals through networking, cooperation and the sharing of expertise. Our collaborative, participatory projects encourage experimental practices and sustainable partnerships between organisations.

Lasso works with actors from various sectors including arts, heritage, education, welfare, youth work and socio-cultural adult work. We support both professional and voluntary workers who are key figures or facilitators for participation in art and culture.

We do this from the perspective of the Brussels metropolitan context, which is diverse, multilingual and international, with significant differences between rich and poor. This setting informs our broad vision of art, culture and participation.
